Mussels and poppy seed lemon cake ムール貝とポピーレモンケーキ


The last couple of months my family has somehow gotten hooked up on mussels. Just boiling them with beer or wine and some veggies and garlic results in the most delicious dinner. This Friday we made a version with cauliflower, basil and lime – really nice!


I also made cake this weekend. Poppy seed and lemon cake. It was very special – a bit too moist and a bit too unsweet I would say, but never the less nice. Here is the recipe!


Otherwise this weekend was all about taking it easy and relaxing. Just like Marcel =)

  1. I love mussels, having been introduced to them by my Belgium relatives. And you’re right, they need wine to simmer in to bring out their flavour. Toss some pasta on them and you’ve got yourself a tasty meal. And if that’s not good enough, my cat doesn’t like them, so I get them all to myself. Yum!

    1. Haha, that’s true actually! The cat’s don’t bother too much about these goodies. But when shrimp is in the house it’s a totally different scenario =)
