Plums in rum and Gingerbread macarons

This year we had so much plums. Some weeks ago I made Umeshu, which is getting tasty for Christmas at this very moment. This weekend though, I pickled some plums in cheap rum, attempting to get rum alcohol tasting plums rather than plum tasting alcohol tasting plums, if you get my point. Adding some spices and I think it can’t fail.
I also attempted making macarons again. Not so beautiful this time, but very tasty. One set with apple and cinnamon and one set with gingerbread spices.
And the last flowers, the sweet peas, are blooming in the garden. Giving this nostalgic feeling that summer has taken its last days and gone to sleep. My kabocha pumpkins are still fine though, and I think that they are actually soon ready to become tempura…
