A day in the vineyard

The two last days I have been doing rather easy but important and nice work in the vineyard. The branches need to be corrected and placed in a way that will allow as much sun as possible to shine on the slate. The slate keeps heat very well, and if it wasn’t for the fact that the ground is full of it, the grapes wouldn’t be able to grow this far north.

The higher you climb the better the view gets, and that in it self is motivation for keeping up the work. Yesterday I was working just above Matthias’ house. It has, like the other houses in the village, of course roofs made of slate.

Konstigt.
