Pistachio rolls ピスタチオロール

How come I am only blogging about sweets nowadays? Well, I suppose it can’t be helped. I’m in the middle of my easter holidays now, which I have spent eating candy, working, studying mechanics, listening to Band of Horses and studying the art of growing bonsais. Now I’m home at my parents place and my sister + her fiance is here too. Something I have wanted to try for a long while is making pistachio rolls. You know, like cinnamon rolls but with pistachio stuffing. The cinnamon roll concept is so strange. My favourite “roll” is not the one with cinnamon, but rather vanilla or cardamom. The ones with almond paste are really nice too. Today however, I decided to try pistachio. Instead of grinding almonds, I used pistachio nuts, hence making pistachio paste instead of almond paste. 何で、私はブログでいつもケーキについて書くんだろう?まあ、仕様が無いか。今、イースター休みだ。お菓子を食べたり、バイトしたりBand of horsesを聞いたり、物理学や盆栽芸術を勉強したりした。現在、実家にいるけど。姉と姉の彼氏もいる。ずいぶん前から作ってみたいのはピスタチオロールことだ。シナモンロールみたいなクッキーだけど中にシナモンの代わりにピスタチオが入ってる。シナモンロールのイメージが変だと思う。私の一番好きなロールはシナモンよりバニラかカルダモンだ。何でシナモンってそんな有名?みんながシナモンロールを知ってるけど、カルダモンロール、スウェーデン人以外誰も知らない気がする。とにかく、今日はピスタチオロールを作ることにした。たまにアーモンドペーストロールを作るけど、今日アーモンドの代わりにピスタチオナッツを使った。ピスタチオナッツって、本当に緑だね。

One thing about having a father that’s retired is that he has spare time to help me with my little projects. Like now when I’m caught up in bonsai breeding. Tomorrow we are going out hunting for nice trees. Gonna be an awesome easter friday!
